Beyond the numbers: The unspeakable on stage.

During the Nazi era, forced labour was a systematic crime that robbed millions of people of their lives and freedom. People were also forced to work in armaments production at the cit works near Sieniawka (formerly Kleinschönau) and in Semily - a cruel irony in which they had to participate in the destruction of their own homeland.

An interdisciplinary approach In the Czech-German co-production "Nur ein Teil", three artists approach this often underexposed chapter of history. Based on the diary of Dutchwoman Maria-Elizabeth Pouwels and the short story "Hat of Glass" by Nava Semel, a multi-layered portrait is created:

• Music: Composed and performed by Jana Kubánková.
• Acting: Expressively embodied by Martha Pohla.
• Dance: In the fine movements of Elise de Heer.

Under the direction of Ingo Putz, a performance is created that starts where facts and tables end. It is an attempt to give the individual fates a voice, a face and a body.
