Past meets present, baroque meets beat
Live recording - Hammerschmidt heard anew
On 20 August 2025, the 350th anniversary of the death of baroque composer Andreas Hammerschmidt (1611-1675) was marked by the performance of works from Zittau as they had never been heard before - in the original and in bold, cross-genre new compositions. The artistic intensity of this evening was so overwhelming that the decision was made to record this special work - live and immediately.
On 20 May 2026, the time has come: the ensemble led by Winnie Brückner and Benedikt ter Braak will once again face the audience at the Kühlhaus in Görlitz and bring the spirit of the Baroque era into the here and now - to capture it on vinyl.
Look forward to an evening of voices, electronics, jazz and early music. The result is a cosmos of sound that builds bridges between the spirit of optimism after the Thirty Years' War and our own changing times.
