We have an eventful history behind us, and a future full of artistic discoveries lies ahead. Join us from 2 to 4 July 2026 to celebrate an unforgettable journey through the art of street theatre, which has been captivating countless audiences for three decades now.
Since its inception, ViaThea has developed into one of Europe’s most significant street theatre festivals. With a unique blend of international and regional artists who transform the streets and squares of the European city of Görlitz-Zgorzelec, the 30th anniversary edition of ViaThea not only marks a milestone in time, but also demonstrates the enduring power of the independent performing arts.
ViaThea is more than just a festival; it is an experience for the whole family and an invitation to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary and to see the city through different eyes. The street theatre festival thrives on this sense of community: on the courage of the artists, the openness of the audience, and the support of our partners, sponsors and volunteers.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who makes this extraordinary festival possible, both on stage and behind the scenes.
WELCOME to the 30th ViaThea 2026!
