So Long, Hallelujah

An evening of Leonard Cohen’s music, presented by and featuring Julia Boegershausen, Benedikt ter Braak and Richard Schönfelder

Unfamiliar songs, including many hits, as well as an exploration of his biography and spirituality, which formed the basis for many of his songs: Inspiring romantic relationships, wartime experiences as a musician on the front line in Israel, drug-fuelled escapades, life crises – and through it all, a love for his faith, alongside literature, painting and music. His songs speak of an incredible vastness, yet remain so intimate and reassuring. That’s Cohen for you. Moreover, he always felt a deep connection to God and Jesus, praying the Hallelujah in the synagogue and in church.

“There is a crack in everything. That’s where the light gets in.”
There is a crack in everything – that’s how the light gets in, as his famous song ‘Anthem’ puts it.

Enjoy an evening with ‘Suzanne’, ‘Marianne’, ‘The Famous Blue Raincoat’ or an invitation to dance until the end of love.
