Offbeat Affair (Rocksteady, Early Reggae, Soul | PL/BR/AU/GR) live at Lüders

Offbeat Affair have released their debut EP and sold out their very first gig: the music spoke for itself even before they’d set foot on stage. Five musicians from Poland, Brazil, Greece and Australia who transform their shared passion for Jamaican offbeat music into something raw and authentic: guitarist Maciej and drummer Adam from the Berlin punkand skinhead scene, bassist Carlos, who also hails from the Oi! scene but has Brazilian music in his blood, singer Marta from the goth scene, and keyboardist Nima, whose versatile style ties it all together. The result is a unique blend of influences from early reggae, goth, soul and funk, all converging in the sound of Kingston circa 1967

Their debut EP ‘Don’t Need Love’ (2026) captures this energy in an old-school way: recorded entirely analogue on a 16-track tape recorder, mixed in mono, without a single computer. The artwork is by Malwina from Old School Design, a fixture on the Oi!/punk design scene. No sterile digital production: just warm, syncopated grooves reminiscent of The Paragons, Alton Ellis and The Impressions, with a raw edge that can only come from Berlin’s underground scene. The year 2026 is already packed full: Wild At Heart, Supamolly, Schokoladen in Berlin, a gig at the Gdańsk Ska Jamboree, Offbeat Attack in Braunschweig and a performance alongside The Hotknives and The Butlers at their 40th-anniversary concert at SO36. “Don’t Need Love” is now available on all streaming platforms: the sound of analogue soul from the streets of Berlin, ready for your playlist and your stage
